Falling Apart Verse 1
She smiles so widely, laughs in the face of her death. Her eyes have become hard and lost their shine, you can almost see the ice crystals in her breath. The words she says are only there to please, and her lies bite you like cold steel. Her hands shake and shiver, her heart aches to feel. Her voice used to be so happy, but now sounds so bitter. The thinner the winner, she will not be the quitter. Her family begs her to eat; her friends try to open her eyes. She looks at them but can’t really see, losing herself and she’ll soon say her goodbyes.
Chorus
Tell me that I’m perfect, I don’t care it it’s a lie. I just want to feel happy again, please just at least try. I purge up the food, but the hurt just won’t leave. I try to drown the sorrow in that porcelain bowl, at least for a little bit I won’t have to grieve. Sooner or later I know that it will come back, but at least I am numb for a while. I may not be happy, but being numb makes it easier to fake the smile. Just for a while. Just for a while.
Verse 2
She looks so perfect, almost no one can see. She’s gotten good at pretending, faking that she’s happy as can be. Silently down she sinks, falling slowly through the dark pit. She can’t tell anyone, if they knew what she does they’d have a fit. Exercise at the gym for six hours, pop a few diet pills. Her whole body aches; doesn’t she know that an eating disorder kills? We’ll never know if she knew, I’m sure that you can figure out the reason. She suffered pain that no one should ever have to endure, pain that lasted through many a season. Even though she was breathing, you wouldn’t have been able to find her soul. Her heart was tortured, and her eyes as black as coal. It seemed like she was smiling, but only she knew how on the inside she had been dying. A lost and lonely little girl, she always had to hide her crying.

Chorus x2

(Spoken) Tell me that you loved me, or at least that you tried.
